From the moment I met Liz & Mark, their love for one another was incredibly evident. They had a very small, intimate ceremony at the River Bend Chapel and their reception at Z Tejas (YUM!). Thanks Liz & Mark for letting me be a part of your special day!

I was SO excited when Liz said they wanted to do a First Look! It was my first couple to get to do this with.. A hint for my future brides.. It’s awesome!!

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing some of the cutest kids in Austin for a company called Baby Bolt! It was an absolute blast chasing kids around the park, trying to capture them in these precious clothes.
Becka Spellman is the genius behind these adorable clothes for kids. All of her designs combine new, upcycled/reclaimed, vintage, and imported fabrics – resulting in unique, one-of-a-kind or limited-run clothing and accessories. All fabrics are pre-washed in eco-friendly, perfume/dye-free detergent. And they’re just so darn cute.
Thanks Becka for letting me photograph your awesome work, your adorable son, and all his cute friends.

I love this.. the pacifier is attached to the end of the bib.

This little girl had the best facial expressions!

I love owls and funny faces.

My family took an RV trip last week to Big Bend. They know how much I’ve been wanting to go to Marfa so we got to stop by for an afternoon. Needless to say, I’m definitely going back for a legit photog. trip.
Here are some random photos. Mostly just buildings and big beautiful blue sky.

First of all.. If you haven’t seen Rachel & Andrew’s One Year Later post, check it out here.
Lately I’ve been wanting to start doing some styled mock wedding shoots just to switch things up a bit. “Wedding Faux-tography” if you will (thanks to David for coining that term). I haven’t been able to coordinate schedules with any local wedding coordinators or florists yet so I decided to go for it all by myself with the help of my lovely friend Sarah. Thanks love!
I tried to keep it simple, as this is something I’ve never done before. Surprisingly, I’m really pleased with the result. BUT.. if are a wedding coordinator/florist/stylist and would like to work with me on one of these in the future, I’m aiming to do one each month. So give me a shout!
Without further ado, here’s my first Wedding Faux-tography session! I really hope you enjoy and I would REALLY, REALLY LOOOOOVE for you to LEAVE ME A COMMENT!

We have a ridiculous amount of empty wine bottles at our house so that was the starting point for my vision.

I knew I wanted to hang jars from the branches and put candles and flowers in them. I LOVE the way it looks! I also added little definitions on a few of the jars, like the wine bottles.

Sarah supplied the table and added some nice touches like this bird and the feathers.

Thanks to my lovely friend Holly for lending me the owl and the plates.

I also added my Anthropologie knobs to the wine bottles.

Can’t have an awesome shoot without my awesome animal masks!

Rachel & Andrew were the first wedding I ever photographed by myself in December 2008. They were also the third wedding I photographed at all.
Yikes.
Needless to say, I felt like I owed them some new portraits.
I absolutely love these two and they’ve become some of my closest friends. Lucky for me, they’re both gorgeous and incredibly easy to photograph. I’d love to hear what you think!
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for their “Wedding Faux-tography” Session.
