Over the next month, my boyfriend and I will be taking off from Austin, TX to conquer the entire west coast. I’ll will be taking pictures of people, places, and the cool things along the way. David will be playing music in bars, coffee shops, and backyards.

Together we are Folktography. Or Pholk for short.

Yesterday, I spent the morning with Carly and Chad, who are getting married next summer. Carly and I actually played softball together when we in middle school and we reconnected our freshman year of college. We spent a few years being Young Life leaders at McCallum. And now she’s getting married! I can’t wait!

Hope you enjoy the photos.

Don’t worry.. there’s some sentimental attachment to the bird… Chad made it for Carly on a trip to Cabo. According to Carly, Rosa has seen their entire relationship unfold. So obviously the bird had to make an appearance!

I know Michelle through my boyfriend David so i was really excited when she asked me to take her engagement portraits. I met her and Andrew at the Forth Worth Stockyards which I’d never been to before. They were super easy to work with, especially because Michelle brought props (YAY!). Plus they both have gorgeous eyes and clearlyyyyy love each other.

Congratulations you guys! Good luck on planning your wedding!

On Friday, I drove to Royce City, TX to shoot Jaymie and Richard’s wedding. I actually hadn’t met them prior to their big day so I was definitely curious to see how the evening would go. Lucky me, it was awesome! Jaymie had a super unique dress and the venue (Occasions at Stone River) was great for photos. Congratulations you guys!

It had been storming pretty badly when I first arrived but luckily the rain stopped in time for the boys’ portraits. And the weather got even NICER when it was the girls’ turn, as you’ll see below.  JRweddingblog016JRweddingblog017I’m curious.. do ALL guys think crouching is the most painful thing ever? You might recognize Sarah and Brian from their engagement session back in June. They got married at Grace Bible in College Station a few weeks ago. They’re an absolutely precious couple and were so easy so work with! This blog is mainly pre-wedding and ceremony photos but I also included a few from their reception.

Be on the look out for a Portrait blog as well as a Photo Booth blog!

Congratulations Sarah and Brian!

Tomorrow, my boyfriend embarks on yet another tour. The mission? To embrace the freedom on which rock ‘n’ roll began.

I had the pleasure of doing a little photo shoot of David and Matt McCloskey, who is the front man for the band with which David is touring. They’re pretty hilarious yet totally fitting for the journey.

You can follow David, Matt, George, and Kendall at www.theseamericantimes.com
