Bryton’s probably going to be my most popular model.. You’ll be seeing him a lot through the years.. Especially if we can convince his parents to move to Austin!! Here are some more from the other day when I was in Dallas hanging with the Patronellas.

As I’ve mentioned many times before, my boyfriend is an incredible musician. Yesterday, he released his brand new album American Soil!! I’m super excited because it’s pretty much EPIC. He’s having release parties here in Austin and Dallas but we kicked it off yesterday back home in little old Sugar Land to celebrate with friends and family.
David’s amazing parents hosted the party in their backyard and it was a huge hit. My parents just recently bought me some new lighting equipment so I decided to do a photo booth for the event. A big thanks to Natalie for helping me out so I could hop in a few.
These are just some of the photos..to view all the photos, visit my website www.paigenewtonphotography.com and go to Client Login. The password is “americansoil”
Remember this little guy?
Well I had a client meeting in Dallas yesterday so of course I had to make a little trip to see how much baby Bryton has grown.
Check it out!
More to come.
Whew. I’m still tired from this weekend. On Sunday, I participated in the June 2009 Austin Wedding Guide Bridal Extravaganza. It was a longggg day but I think it turned out well! I booked one wedding, which apparently is good for the day of and I had a ton of interested brides. So we’ll see if it leads to some more bookings.
I just wanted to share some photos of my booth because I thought it was cute.. no flat screens or fancy displays like the most of the other booths.. but I felt it was very representative of my style so I guess I weeded out all the Bridezillas who want fancy photographers… ha.
Excuse the quality. These are from my point and shoot which it always getting dropped like it’s hot and David’s iPhone.Â

A big thanks to Kristi for choosing Paige Newton Photography for her wedding!!

Here’s a video my lovely boyfriend David Ramirez shot on the couple shoot I had with Katy and Austin.
This might give you a little idea what your shoot with PNP might be like.. which is awesome.
Enjoy!
So this is something I worked on a ton last week in preparation for the bridal show I have on Sunday. I’m prettttttty stoked about it.
Introducing my 2009-2010 Paige Newton Photography Price Guide!!
Props to Sarah Q for the template!
Finally.
Rachel, I know it’s been a long time coming. Thank you for your patience. Here is part 2 of your photos. For those of you who missed it, here’s Rachel’s first set of photos.
there aren’t many photos of myself i’m too crazy about. most come from point and shoot cameras and that’s all good, but everyone wants at least one sweet high-res image of themselves…. or is that just me? oh well.
anyway- i don’t have a ton of photographer friends here in austin so i’m stuck with little ol’ me if i want a good one… and honestly i just cannot take a photo of myself the way i can of someone else.
but today i was up for the challenge. yeah, i’m busy.. yeah, i have better things to do. but i really want to always be shooting, always be improving.. even when i have no time for it. so i put a headband over my nasty hair, threw on some cute clothes and went for it.
part of me hesitated to even post this because it makes me feel sort of vain. but let’s face it.. i’m not that good at self portraits so i guess i feel better that i don’t do it so often that i’m perfect at it… right?
anyway, here are some i ended up liking.
p.s. one of my friends got married and bought those pink shoes for all of the bridesmaids. mine are a size too small. i will never wear them. but they look cute in pictures, right?
Okay so I know this a ton of text but, in this case, the text is more important than the photos. So I encourage you to take the time and read this if you can.
So here’s the story. My boyfriend David just moved to Austin in December. If you’ve been following my blog or know us personally, you know he’s an incredible musician. He’s had a ton of success at his shows thus far which is awesome since he’s only lived her for a short period of time. Beyond sharing his music and connecting with his audience, David’s heart is to create community among local musicians. Luckily, there’s a ton of those around these parts and he’s met and connected with quite a few.
So one day he was hanging at Dominican Joe Coffee off South Congress and started chatting with the manager Marcus, who also happens to do the booking at DJ. (Side note: Marcus moved here from Fort Worth last fall and really has a heart to live life to its fullest and just has a ton of amazing things to say. If you ever meet him, I encourage you to pick his brain. He’s pretty incredible.) David’s already played a few normal shows there but he wanted to pitch some new ideas to Marcus. He brought up the idea of getting local musicians together to play tribute shows to various bands and songwriters who we all know and (hopefully) love. Of course Marcus loved the idea, especially because David happened to mention his favorite band, Radiohead. So it was decided and David started gathering musicians to take part in the first Dominican Joe tribute show.
This first time around, David mainly stuck to musicians he already knew fairly well. The night was an enormous success, in my opinion. A ton of people showed up.. friends, family, and strangers alike. It was so neat to see each musician interpret Radiohead in a way that still showcased their own personal style. Anyway, I’ll stop rambling. The point is– it was amazing and I hope you come out next time. They’ll be tributing Ryan Adams on July 31. So if you’re a musician and want to get in on it, let me know and I’ll connect you with David.
A big shout out to all the incredible musicians who played (in this particular order, in fact): Jaimee Harris, Adam Ellis, Brady Davis and Chase Van Haselen, manager Marcus and his lovely wife, Matt McCloskey, Brian Douglas Phillips and The Reliques, and David Ramirez. I’ll put names and links by each of their photos below.

Great job everyone!

Halima booked me for a portrait session a looooooong time ago. We were originally supposed to have her portrait session in April but it got rained out. Boooo. And I’m pretty sure we had to reschedule it once or twice after that… Double (triple?) boo. But all that matters is that we FINALLY met yesterday!!! Woohoo!!
Because we’ve been emailing back and forth for so long, I felt like I already knew her when we finally met. Things were super comfortable and fun from the start. She just graduated from the University of Houston and is about to move to France for a year (I’m so freaking jealous, by the way) so she wanted a few photos of herself before she headed off. She picked this amazingggg location in Houston called Diverse Works. I was obsessed the moment I pulled in the parking lot. So needless to say, yesterday was a ton of fun photographing Halima. Enjoy!
Sarah and Brian contacted me a few weeks ago about shooting their wedding in August. They came to town from College Station on Thursday to talk about the details and we ended up shooting their engagement session since they were already in town. I had such a great time hanging with them! They’re super sweet and a ton of fun.. As you’ll see in their pictures. I’m stoked to shoot their wedding in August!
Last weekend, my friends Katy and Austin came to visit David and me from Arlington. Katy and Austin got married in December and I have them a portrait session for the gift. It was time to cash in and luckily they were down for letting me do some different stuff.
Originally, I was inspired by photographer Max Wanger, who’s amazinggggg. But then I sort of twisted into my own style. This set is basically untouched with bright and bold colors. But, as always, I’m torn over my love for vintage photos. So be on the look out for a different post with a totally different vibe.
Enjoy!
