i have a friend who’s developing a pretty amazing company (which i’ll elaborate on once it’s progressed a bit) and he asked me to take some photos for his website.

we hit up 6th street around dusk last night and he gave me a general idea of what he wanted and let me loose after that.
here’s a few of the shots. i’ll be sure to update everyone on his company once it’s rolling.

This afternoon, I had my second engagement  session with Heather & Marcel. We went to UT (they’re both Longhorns) and the Capitol, which is turning out to be quite the hot spot for photos. They were super chill and very photogenic which made my job pretty easy.

Here are some of the shots. :)

This morning I had the pleasure of photographing Matti, who’s a friend of one of my Young Life girls.

Here are a few from the day.

(The one above is my absolute favorite. Her eyes are epic, as is the coat, of course.)

So I needed to borrow a lens I knew my dad had from his old Canon Rebel film camera which is no longer in working order.

Good ol’ dad not only GAVE me the lens (which happens to be a Sigma 28-200mm f3.8-5.6), he also threw in a Canon 35-80mm f4-5.6 lens. Yay!
But it doesn’t stop there. I also got an Canon AE-1 Program camera out of the deal. It doesn’t work, but I’m on a mission to get it fixed because he gave it to me with a 50mm f/1.8 and a 70-210mm macro lens.
So a big fat thanks to my dad for expanding my lens collection. :)

so here’s the story.

my friend chris reichman (who happens to photograph weddings) asked me to be his second shooter with him this past weekend. thus, i got an opportunity to practice photographing a wedding for my first time. it was a great way to see how things worked and figure out what to do (and what not to do).

example: a slightly essential piece of plastic (the focus screen) fell out a few hours before the wedding started. not good. luckily, chris had an extra camera body so i wasn’t completely screwed. but i learned my lesson and next time, i’ll bring my rebel as backup.

anyway, here’s a few of the shots. i’ll edit more and let you know when they’re up!

today i made a myspace profile for my photography.

it made me want to vomit a little seeing as i despise myspace for anything other than listening to music and keeping up with bands.
but i figured i should take advantage of every avenue i can, right?
……right???
we’ll see.

so here’s a few shots of the kids i nanny. i just got my canon 5d two weeks ago and i needed some practice. my mom keeps telling me to start photographing kids more b/c it’s so lucrative.. haha. but it’s also pretty tough. kids don’t do what you tell them to like the lovely couples and seniors i photograph. but it was still fun and i got some precious pictures.

Yesterday I went all over Austin with another of my Young Life girls, Claire. Obviously, we had a great time and again, I had the pleasure of taking pictures of another beautiful McCallum girl!

There were a ton to choose from, but here’s a few:

Yesterday I had my first senior portrait session with one of my Young Life girls, Sara Stites. Besides one of our locations being a bust (who knew they’d put pumpkins at the flamingo yard??) we had a great time and got some awesome shots.
I still have a ton of editing to do, but here’s sneak peek:
Downtown Austin.
