I’ve been wanting to do a photo series of people’s homes for awhile now. I’ve shot a few that I have yet to share but this one holds a special place in my heart.

Yesterday, one of my best friends Lance left our home in Austin to move to Korea to teach English for a year. Lance is a dreamer.. a BIG dreamer, in fact. He and I had many grand plans to do all sort of things and many of our dreams and goals have come to fruition over the past few years of knowing each other. But many of those ideas will just have to wait until he returns. I could go on and on about Lance but I’ll get to the point.

One of our many ideas was to do a bunch of photography projects in his studio apartment. Of course we ran out of time before we could actually do them but I had to grab a few shots of it before he left yesterday. These photos are sad because his place is empty, stripped of all his possessions, many of which have found new homes among our group of friends. But I’m glad I got to take them anyway. Enjoy.

I’ve been working on this project for a few months now. It took a back seat after the holidays but I just wanted to share an image. Hope you like it.
