Meet Trisha. She’s a dear friend of mine and is dating an even dearer (is that a word??) friend of mine. I met her last summer and she moved up to Austin about 7 months ago. She cracks me up and I can’t wait for her to turn 21 so she can come dancing with me all the time. After all, she’s a part in the USA.

I photographed Rose’s bridal portraits at the Cotton Mill in McKinney last May and since I couldn’t reveal them until after her wedding, I almost forgot all about them.
Rose looked absolutely beautiful despite the INSANE Texas heat. Me and her mother was sweating like crazy but Rose kept it together. So props to you, lady! I’ll be posting Rose & John’s wedding pretty soon as well so be on the look out for that!

Meet Elizabeth & Jesse.
They’re super cute.
And they’re in love.
They like to pick flowers..
..and go on picnics..
They laugh..
.. and kiss..
Elizabeth & Jesse- you were such a blast to photograph! Thanks so much for being open to my random ideas! You guys are freaking adorable!! Can’t wait to photograph your wedding!
Everyone- Stay tuned for the other half of Elizabeth & Jesse’s engagement session!
Hello friends!
I’m looking for someone fabulous to become a regular assistant and/or second shooter for Paige Newton Photography. I’ll need assistants at some portrait sessions (engagements, bands, senior portraits, families, personal projects, etc.) as well as a second shooter and/or assistant for weddings.
These needs can be filled by multiple people. I’m just looking to create a regular and consistent list of amazing and dependable people to have on hand for various jobs. I’m super chill and I want to work with people who are laid back as well but who also work hard and who LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY.
Please don’t contact me if you’re uptight, rude, snobby, a pain in the ass, or have a history of bailing on people last minute.
I’d prefer to work with a student or young adult as my photography is geared toward people who are young and energetic. Your personal style also might be a factor- I’ve got a definite vision to my photography and I want to work with someone who shares it or at least understands it. We can discuss this more after you contact me.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SECOND SHOOTERS:
-Basic knowledge of camera (ISO, Aperture, Shutter speed, etc)
-Own your own SLR body & lenses (or have access to equipment)
-Have some experience second shooting at weddings
-Flexible schedule (I’ll tell you dates well in advance)
-Hard worker & good with direction
SECOND SHOOTER APPLICANTS:
-Please check out my website to see if we have somewhat similar styles- I usually shoot with a vintage yet modern style (www.paigenewtonphotography.com).
-Shoot me an email with a link to your portfolio, contact info, resume, list of equipment, and minimum pay
ASSISTANT REQUIREMENTS:
-Ability to carry a bunch of crap without dropping it. ![]()
-Flexible schedule
-Hard worker & good with direction
ASSISTANT APPLICANTS:
-Shoot me an email with your resume and any assistant experience you can tell me about
COMPENSATION:
Pay depends on the job (wedding vs. portrait session, second shooter vs. assistant) as well as your experience. I also can offer internship credit to photography students.
Look forward to hearing from you!
Cheers,
Paige

Denise and her family came out to my parent’s lake house about a month ago to take some family/maternity portraits. The boys were an absolute hoot and kept me on my toes for sure. I don’t normally take family portraits but I can see why other photographers love it.. it’s super entertaining.
Enjoy!
After we wrapped the shoot, we let the boys run wild in the sprinklers.. it was pretty hilarious.
Thanks again for choosing me as your photographer! It was a joy getting to hang out with your family for the day.
Meet Mollye- she’s got gorgeous eyes and is incredibly photogenic. Which made my job nice and easy.
We had a low key afternoon around Austin and I’m quite happy with the way the photos turned out. Thanks for choosing me as your photographer, Mollye! Hope you enjoy the rest of your senior year!
These next few photos are brought to you by John letting me sit on his shoulders. Ha!

Mollye loves to sketch and read so she brought some her sketch books and novels along.

See what I mean about how gorgeous and photogenic she is?? If only we were all so lucky.

Thanks again Mollye! You were great to work with! And thanks to John for assisting.
First of all.. If you haven’t seen Rachel & Andrew’s One Year Later post, check it out here.
Lately I’ve been wanting to start doing some styled mock wedding shoots just to switch things up a bit. “Wedding Faux-tography” if you will (thanks to David for coining that term). I haven’t been able to coordinate schedules with any local wedding coordinators or florists yet so I decided to go for it all by myself with the help of my lovely friend Sarah. Thanks love!
I tried to keep it simple, as this is something I’ve never done before. Surprisingly, I’m really pleased with the result. BUT.. if are a wedding coordinator/florist/stylist and would like to work with me on one of these in the future, I’m aiming to do one each month. So give me a shout!
Without further ado, here’s my first Wedding Faux-tography session! I really hope you enjoy and I would REALLY, REALLY LOOOOOVE for you to LEAVE ME A COMMENT!
We have a ridiculous amount of empty wine bottles at our house so that was the starting point for my vision.
I knew I wanted to hang jars from the branches and put candles and flowers in them. I LOVE the way it looks! I also added little definitions on a few of the jars, like the wine bottles.
Sarah supplied the table and added some nice touches like this bird and the feathers.
Thanks to my lovely friend Holly for lending me the owl and the plates.
I also added my Anthropologie knobs to the wine bottles.
Can’t have an awesome shoot without my awesome animal masks!
